So, OK, you are interested in seeing the kinds of sites I have found, and am always finding while surfing the net aimlessly, check out some of the sites I found interesting enough to stick on here. I don't know how interesting you will find the sites, but I do try to please as many of them as I can. This page was originally created way back in the early days of my web surfing, and most of the sites have changed greatly from what was originally here. You'll notice that the radio stations are on a separate page now. The first links are web-only stations so they are still here. The one to Canada411 is the only original link from back then.
Iceberg Radio, is a Web-radio service in Canada, that has various generas of music to listen to from rock to country, to rap, and so on.
Live365 is a broadcasting service that lets you hear literally thousands of stations, both armature and professional broadcasters with all kinds of music choices, for every taste imaginable.
107 The Phoenix, is another small station that plays different genera of music, but mostly top 40 stuff. You can listen through either Winamp or Windows Media Player.
JJRN (Jammin' Jerry Radio Network) is another small internet radio station that has different kinds of music including some adult content.
Sky.FM has several stations to listen to. You can take a pro account and listen without commercials.
The Q On Line, is a station that plays a variety of music. This station was around before but has gone through some changes and improvements are being done. Check it out for yourself and tell your friends about the station as they need more listeners.
LLJ FM is a small radio station run by a couple blind people that plays a variety of music.
20 20 The Blink, is an internet radio station owned and operated by blind or visually impaired people where you can listen to a variety of music. "Hear the visision" as they say.
UltraRadio.us plays "Just the Good Stuff" as they say on there. They play anything under the sun, from Rock to Country, to Big Band, to what ever. I've heard lots of songs I didn't know existed.
Chris Pirillo Live is hosted by a computer Geek who about differnet tech matters.
Twit Live is Leo LaPort's live stream where you can see various tach programs produced by him and The Twit Network.
The Lost 45s with Barry Scott is a weekly radio show heard on station out of Boston MA, that streams on line. It's a great show if you want to hear songs you just don't hear on the radio anymore.
Face book is a very popular social networking site which was originally intended for college students and alike to get together and meet but now people of all ages go on and register and meet up with old friends. This site also lets you add several applications to enhance your profile and do fun things there. Check it out for yourself.
Zone BBS is a web site where people can go and play games, post on different message boards and send quick notes back and forth. It is a social site designed with blind people in mind. IT seems to be geared towards the younger people, especially teens and people in their early 20s.
Out of Site is a chat site for blind and visually impaired people to meet others. It's a voice chat site where you use a microphone and speakers or a head set.
For The People is another popular chat site for the blind to voice chat, with microphone and speakers or a head set.
VIP Conduit is yet another chat site designed for the blind and visually impaired comunity for voice chat.
Flickr is a picture sharing site, for everyone. Sign up for a free account and you can share your photos with the world.
YouTube is a video sharing site where you can find thousands of videos, on everything you could think of. You may also upload and share your own videos for everyone to see. Also, rate and comment on videos there. Sign up is completely free. You can view the videos with flash so there's nothing to download.
Clip shack, is yet, another video sharing site to view and share videos from anyone.
Live Video is, well what it's name implies, videos from both armature and pros to post their videos.
Blip.tv is another video site to check out. I don't have any videos there but you might find some interesting ones over there.
SendSpace, is a site that lets you send files up to 300 MB to users for free. They also have a pro package if you want it that gives you more flexibility.
Divshare, lets you send files to people, just like send space but the site has a little more things to offer.
Various radio stations. This separate page was created for all the over-the-air broadcast stations, that can be picked up in this area. There are so many of them that I felt it was time to place them on their own page.
Eyes2Eyes.com, is a site geared to blind and visually impaired people of all ages. It contains many articles on blindness. Theres' also an E-Pals section where you register, and then you have access to different message boards where different topics are discussed.
Canada 411 Phone directory listings for people across Canada. Includes listings for both home and businesses. Reverse Lookup is also available now over there.
